I’ve just connected with someone, and sent them a selfie - now what?

Congrats on your new connection! Now that you have sent them a selfie, you must wait until he/she sends you a selfie back. Your connection does not know you have sent them a selfie, until he/she replies back, and once that happens, you can “Reveal” each other and see each other’s selfies in 7 seconds before disappearing forever. If you and your connection click “Yes” to each other’s selfies, you match fully, and can start a conversation.

Why do all users only have 1 profile picture?

All users have a public profile, and a full profile. The public profile is all the profiles you see of people you haven’t matched with. All public profiles only have 1 profile picture. After matching fully (after the selfie revealing), you can see the other person’s full profile, which can contain up to 6 profile pictures, interests, and an “About me” description.

Why does my match disappear from the “Awaiting” list after I click “Yes” in the revealing 7 seconds?

When you click “Yes” to a person in the 7 seconds revealing, and the other person has yet to make his/her choice, that person will disappear from the “Awaiting” list until there is a mutual “Yes”. Does the other party say “No”, there’s no match and you won’t ever see that profile again. My messages are not being sent. Firstly, make sure you have a strong internet connection. You can also try force-closing the app, by double-tapping on the iPhone “Home” button, and swipe Blume up. If the issues keeps persisting, please wait a few hours and try again later. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I lost all my matches.

Try to log out, and log back in again. Go to Settings, and scroll down to bottom bottom, and click on “Sign out”. As long as you haven’t deleted your account, your matches are not deleted. If only a few matches have disappeared, one or more of your matches have deleted the match with you, or deleted their account.

I don’t have any matches.

Be patient. A connection only happens when two people swipe “Yes” to each other. It helps a lot to have a picture of yourself as profile picture. Matches only happen once you and your connection have sent each other a selfie, and both have clicked “Yes” in the 7 seconds selfie revealing.

Chat

Why did the chat history with one of my matches disappear? On Blume you can delete your chat history with any of your matches, which means that if one of your matched deletes the chat history with you, it will also be deleted on your own device.

Can I message someone I haven’t matched with?

Nope. Once two people swipe “Yes” to each other, they connect but don’t match. You can only message the other user if you have completed the selfie matching, which happens the the “Awaiting” section. There you and your connection have to send each other a selfie, before you can see the other person’s selfie. When that happens you have 7 seconds to either say “Yes” or “No” during the 7 seconds revealing. If both parties say “Yes”, you match fully and can start a conversation.

Why are there messages in a newly created match?

Blume has a unique feature, and that is that the text you apply on your selfies will automatically be transferred directly into the chat if you match with the other party, thereby getting the conversation going straight away. Pro tip: Be creative. Write something original on the selfies.

Can I undo a match I deleted?

Can I delete a conversation?

I get push notifications for no reason?

It may be because you got a New Connection, New Reveal, New Match or a new message, and that the other user has deleted their account or unmatched you. Another reason could be that you have deleted the app without logging out, and then logged in with another Facebook account on the same device, which results in a conflict between push notifications. The solution is to log in with your original account > log back out, and then log in with your new account again. If you still have problems, please contact us at help@getblume.com.
